
Donating to The Community Shop is an easy way to support the local community.
This not only helps those in need, but it's also good for the environment as it reduces waste.
Items we can accept.
Clothes & textiles - Furniture - Electrical goods - Bric-a-brac - CDs & DVDs - White goods including cookers, washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges & freezers - Electronics - Games - Accessories & jewellery - Books - Shoes & Bags - Homeware - Photo frames - Paintings & Prints - Tools.
We would prefer that you bring donations to the shop but we may be able to pick up heavy or bulky goods. Please contact us to enquire.
We try to sell or recycle everything that you generously donate to us, but there are some items that we cannot sell.
For safety reasons.
We don’t sell items that may be dangerous to our staff, volunteers or customers. We also don’t sell safety equipment that we can’t guarantee is still effective.
For hygiene reasons.
We do not sell items that present a hygiene risk in their use or handling.
For legal reasons.
We do not sell items that are legally prohibited from sale. We also do not sell items that need a licence that is either inappropriate or too expensive.
For wellbeing reasons
We do not sell legal items that may cause harm.
Examples of items we can't sell would be Computers, Microwave ovens, Bottled or mains gas appliances, Crash or safety helmets, Medicines, Cosmetics (unless new and unopened), Firearms, Wheelchairs, Children's car seats, Solvents and flammable items etc.
Please do not donate these items. Disposing of them may cost money and divert funds away from people who need our help.
